I can see this being used for medic drone pods with sensors that can assess the patient in flight and relay information to the hospital to ensure right personnel and resources are available. A step further would be vertical lift medic pods with a sensor suite and robotic medics capable of handling trauma en route to the hospital. This can also help in remote area search and rescue, high altitude rescue, and water rescue scenarios to name a few.
