One behavior I’ve been utilizing is a short, 8-minute eyes-closed reset in the middle of the day. The goal isn’t a perfect nap; it’s a reduction in sensory input and a brief downshift in arousal, followed by a return to work with better attention and patience. My simple protocol: set a timer for 8, phone face-down, lights dimmed if possible, eyes closed. Elevating my legs is a nice touch. Keep the total under 20 minutes to avoid grogginess. I’ve found pre-lunch or between stacked sessions (as time allows) to be the highest-leverage windows. This isn’t a silver bullet, but it’s a repeatable constraint that protects focus without buying another device.
