Sweet Seal seals the deal with her new family 🐶🧡 In January of this year, the NYPD found a dog tied up to a fence post, all alone. Seal, as we named her, was suffering from multiple serious injuries and went from Animal Care Centers of NYC in Queens to the VEG ER for Pets for urgent medical care. She was then transferred to the ASPCA Animal Hospital for further treatment. Our vets found that Seal was underweight and had severe wounds on her neck, ears, and all four legs, which were consistent with dog bite injuries. Thus began Seal's journey to recovery, where she needed extensive wound management and a refeeding plan to help her gain weight safely. After another two months of careful rehabilitation, Seal was finally ready for a home of her own. During her time at our Adoption Center, she became a staff and volunteer favorite. Her loving personality shone brightly in media interviews and through social posts – she was even invited to Carnegie Hall as an elaborate April Fools Day prank! While she had a fantastic time with our staff, nothing compared to when she found her family. In May, Sean C. was considering adopting another dog after he had a wonderful experience fostering. His dog, Jackson, was getting older, and having another dog in the home gave him a new source of energy. Sean came across Seal's profile on the ASPCA website and quickly realized he wanted to meet her, along with his three children. Once the full family met Seal for the first time, bringing her home was the easiest decision Sean had ever made. Seal, now named Silia, took a moment to warm up to her new bustling lifestyle, but found her place soon enough. Sean even adopted a third dog, Skylar, to help match her playful energy, and the two of them are BFFS. Silia is the biggest cuddle bug and always knows when Sean and the kids need some snuggles. The family can't recommend adopting a dog enough. Read more about Seal's story by visiting https://bit.ly/4rCH23F. #ASPCA #HappyTail
