The Alice Dodge Wallace ’38 Center for the Performing Arts at Emma Willard School has been recognized in the first-ever Architectural Record Awards as one of the best projects of the year! Through careful craftsmanship, Consigli maintained the 115-year-old Alumnae Chapel’s historic character by restoring its limestone façade, replacing its slate roof and the wood trusses that support its vaulted ceilings, and preserving its stained glass windows and one-of-a-kind baroque organ. Next to the chapel, a new subterranean arts wing – housed beneath an accessible green roof that blends seamlessly into the campus landscape – was created to expand resources for theater, music and dance.
