Humana’s Community Impact Program is expanding the ways we support communities near and far. Through our inaugural trip to the Dominican Republic, 30 Humana and CenterWell employees partnered with One World Surgery to deliver care and address health-related social needs in underserved communities. During their visit, the teams provided care at the One World Surgery facility, established pop-up clinics and brought care through home visits to individuals facing significant barriers to traditional healthcare. In total, 564 patients received primary care services in one week, including a record-breaking 233 patients in a single day. The team also worked on several community projects, including providing improved sanitation and restoring a playground for local children.
