What is 3- way Handshake? The 3-way handshake is a process used in TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) to establish a reliable connection between two devices (like your computer and a server). Here's a simple breakdown: 🖐️ Steps of the 3-Way Handshake SYN (Synchronize): The client sends a message to the server saying, “I want to connect” (SYN). SYN-ACK (Synchronize-Acknowledge): The server replies, “Okay, I got your request. Let’s connect” (SYN-ACK). ACK (Acknowledge): The client responds, “Great, connection confirmed” (ACK). Once these three steps are done, the connection is established and data can be exchanged.

💡 Tip #98: Script user session time tracking with `who` and `last`. Monitor user login and logout times for auditing or resource management. Example: `who` shows currently logged-in users. `last` shows a history of logins. Parse their output to generate reports on user activity.

𝐈𝐟 𝐈 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 Did you know there is a way to travel through time on your computer. It's called System restore. System Restore will restore Windows to a previous point in time. If you have a system restore point, you can go back in time on your PC to a previous date and restore functionality. A restore point is a snapshot of Windows at a given time. 𝐓𝐨 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐚 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭 In the search box on the taskbar, type Create a restore point then select it from the list of results. On the System Protection tab in System Properties, select Create. Type a description for the restore point, and then select Create > OK. A restore point will then be created. You should do this periodically just in case you need to roll back Windows in the event of a problem. 𝐈𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬, 𝐰𝐞 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮.

🔐 New feature: Entra ID BitLocker key management in EasyEntra. Looking up BitLocker recovery keys in Entra ID can be surprisingly time-consuming. The Entra ID admin portal requires you to enter all 32 characters of the BitLocker Password ID - often read from a photo or the blue recovery screen. This process is slow and error-prone, and often drives companies to rely on spreadsheets, custom scripts, and senior IT involvement - just to recover a key... With EasyEntra, BitLocker recovery becomes fast and effortless: ✅ Search with just a few characters of the Password ID. ✅ Instantly find the matching recovery key and device. ✅ Verify owner and device details in one click. Ergo: Another feature that helps companies shift routine tasks from senior IT to first-line support, reducing support costs, saving time, and speeding up ticket resolution. We really had to wrestle with some Entra ID API limitations to make this possible - but that's what EasyEntra is all about: turning clunky admin tasks into simple, powerful tools. BitLocker recovery often means manually mapping users to devices, since the admin portal can't search the Password ID (unless you enter ALL 32 characters!) Now, you can just type a few and instantly find the correct device, owner, and key - no spreadsheets, no scripts, no escalation. That's the kind of everyday win we ❤ delivering to M365 admins.
