Last week, we shared the ins and outs of East Side Coastal Resiliency (ESCR) with this year's Urban Fellows cohort from the Penn Institute for Urban Research. Led by Global Director of Programs Amanda Lloyd, the fellows took the ferry to Corlears Hook at the recently reopened section of East River Park, where they heard from ONE’s Laura Frances about passive and active design features that offer residents and visitors excellent public amenities. The group toured the full extent of the newly completed portion of the upgraded park, walking along the waterfront from the amphitheater to the popular tennis courts just north of the Williamsburg Bridge. ESCR being the first major resilience project of its kind in NYC, Laura also compared the park design to her past work on Domino Park just across the East River. We look forward to hosting next year's cohort at the next section of the park!
Awesome to see this project come to life!
Thanks so much for your time and thanks for sharing - such a great project!
