Pure Lithium’s solution to today’s “inefficient and chaotic” global battery supply chain is to completely reinvent the way batteries are made, our Founder, Chairman and CEO Emilie Bodoin explained at the FII PRIORITY Asia 2025 summit in Tokyo. “It takes over 500 days for lithium to get from the ground into your battery and 55,000 miles around the globe,” she said. “That is not resilient or efficient and it’s pretty energy-intensive. We can electrodeposit lithium, we combine basically extraction and anode production. So I make half the battery in a day. That’s a big, big game changer.” Fadi Saadeh, Acting CEO and Head of Technology at VCM, joined Emilie Bodoin for the panel discussion “Securing the New Industrial Supply Chain.” Our sincere gratitude to moderator Atul Arya President and Chief Energy Strategist at S&P Global and a highly respected leader across the energy industry for his excellent questions. Introduced by Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, the summit brings together thought leaders from industry, science, academia, finance to pioneer solutions that transcend industries and geographies. Emilie explained how our, lighter, cheaper to produce, more energy efficient and more energy dense lithium metal battery can be sourced and produced within any country where the materials are available, such as Saudi Arabia, Australia and North America. Japan, a battery technology pioneer, could be an ideal partner in deploying our technology worldwide, she said.
