Veterans Day

Veterans Day

"I served in the Marine Corps for six years as a military policeman, where I trained for deployments to handle convoy and base security. Joining wasn’t something I had always planned, but I felt the need to challenge myself, gain structure, and earn a sense of purpose. After completing my training, I transitioned to the reserves, allowing me to return to civilian life while still fulfilling my commitment with one weekend of training each month. It was after this time that I married my best friend and started my family, welcoming four amazing children who keep me on my toes!

The most valuable discipline I learned in the military wasn’t training to fight, but training to support and protect each other. I learned the importance of camaraderie, integrity and doing the right thing even when no one is watching. The best leaders I’ve known are humble, team-oriented and able to perform under pressure. These principles guide me every day in my work as a leader at Sleep Number." – Ken, Account Manager, Final Mile
