Lots of creatives are STRUGGLING to find work in this market. I've met with at least a dozen or so creatives just within the last month who all mention these few concerns: - they've been let go from their agency. - they quit their job but can't find freelance work. - their clients have pulled back in spending. And when I ask them what work they're looking for, they'll say: "I'll take anything - I'll direct/produce/edit/DP" -- [Tough love incoming] Right now - the creative industry doesn't need generalists who can solve every problem - it needs SPECIALISTS. People who can solve very unique and specific pain points for clients that CAN'T be replaced by cheap labor, overseas talent, or AI. Use this time to take a step back and develop a hyper-niché speciality that no one can compete with you on. - "I create hyper-short edits on TikTok for SaaS companies" - "I produce international travel documentaries for broadcast" - "I direct car spots geared towards multicultural audiences" Make it your brand for the next 2-3 months and start getting in front of customers who need your skill. The creatives who are specializing right now are WINNING in this market.
