Secure Messaging FAQs
MyChart can be used to send non-urgent messages and questions to your provider, or to send paperwork (like a vaccine card or disability forms) for your provider to review or sign.
Please note that MyChart should never be used for urgent medical situations. If your situation requires immediate attention, call your doctor’s office, or dial 911 if it is an emergency.
- Do not message your provider about urgent, time-sensitive medical issues. Call their office directly or dial 911 if it is an emergency.
- If you need to speak with your doctor after-hours or over the weekend, call their office to speak with an on-call provider.
- If you have a new health issue or need to communicate a lot of information, call your provider’s office.
- To request a prescription renewal, see test results, or schedule or cancel an appointment, use the appropriate sections of MyChart.
Messages are reviewed Monday–Friday, 8 am–5 pm. You will receive a response in 2-3 business days.
