How do I request information regarding my background check the VA?

The Department of Veterans Affairs does not conduct our own background checks on employees. The Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) conducts investigations and any records related to an employee’s background check belong to them. You may file a FOIA request with the DCSA by mail, email or fax:

How do I get an employment verification from the VA?

You can obtain employment verification from the VA through The Work Number, a secure employment and income verification service provided by Equifax.  This service offers employment-only or employment-plus-income verification for current and former employees.
