Inauguration of Mozambique’s First LPG Plant: A Landmark Achievement It is with immense pride and a sense of achievement that I reflect on the inauguration today of Mozambique’s first Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) plant —a groundbreaking project that marks a pivotal moment in the country's energy sector. This state-of-the-art plant not only brings a sustainable and much-needed energy solution to the region but also underscores Mozambique’s growing position as a key player in the African energy landscape. With the country’s significant energy potential, the new LPG plant is set to improve energy access, reduce dependency on traditional biomass fuels, and contribute to economic development by providing cleaner and more affordable alternatives for domestic and industrial use. As a Mozambican Process Engineer, I was honored to play a key role throughout the entire lifecycle of this project, from design and construction to commissioning and startup. Throughout the project, I worked closely with a multidisciplinary team to design processes that ensured efficiency, safety, and compliance with international standards. During construction, I helped oversee equipment installation and troubleshooting, while my role in the commissioning and startup phase focused on fine-tuning systems for optimal performance. Looking ahead, Sasol IPF inauguration marks the beginning of new possibilities for Mozambique’s energy sector. It paves the way for future advancements and serves as a symbol of what can be achieved when innovation and collaboration come together to address the energy needs of the country. #Sasolemmocambique #Sasol #LPG #IPF

This milestone is a reminder of how powerful technology becomes when it’s built with purpose, teamwork, and the customer at the centre. A special shoutout to Commercial Marketing Exec, FNB South Africa, Katleho Mahloane, who had the entire room pulling out our phones, snapping selfies, and posting in real time — all in the name of helping him hit those KPIs 😊.
