Discover what’s new in Your Library

MateusM

Your Library is the place where I keep all the music that matters to me, so I was delighted to see a few new updates of late which make it easier and more intuitive to explore and keep track of my collection. These changes give you a clearer view of your saved music and really keep things flowing naturally as you browse.

Here’s what’s new:

  • Release date sorting (mobile and desktop) – you can now sort albums and singles by when they were released, making it simple to browse your collection in chronological order. I love this!

  • Bell icon for new releases (live in mobile, rolling out on desktop now) – this handy little marker in Your Library helps you spot albums that have just been released.

  • Visible release dates (mobile and desktop) – when you scroll through your albums and tap on the scroll icon shown, you’ll now see the release dates right there, so you can quickly tell what’s new without opening each one.

Your Library is evolving to stay more helpful and transparent, giving you new ways to keep track of your music while staying familiar and easy to use.

What features do you like in Your Library? And what would you like to see in the future?

I've noticed the bell, and I think it works!

New features? I would like to see Your Library behave more like a library then quick links to the artist page. Add in something that takes us to the artist's page like being able to select their name or picture, but I want to see the songs that I've added to my library as such. A collection of songs/albums/compilations of music from that artist. There are days that I want to listen to specific albums from an artist, but I feel like we have to make playlists to do that. I love making playlists. I think this would be useful for a lot of users.

Why is it 2025 and I can't sort my liked songs on desktop

MateusM

Hey @MotionlessZero!

Thanks for commenting.

You can try it by clicking on an artist’s name from Your Library to go straight to their Artist Page. From there, anything you’ve added to your library (albums, singles, etc.) is just one click away and can be played like a playlist.

Maybe this helps. Let me know if you have questions!

Hey @tjliebro!

Thanks for your question.

Can you explain a bit more about how you’d like to sort it? There are already some sorting options available. Also, in certain markets (not globally yet), there are Genre filters you can use. These filters are currently available in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Hope this helps. Keep me posted on how this goes!

The web application. It cannot be sorted.

MateusM

Thanks for the quick reply @tjliebro!

Sort and filter are available on Desktop, mobile, and tablet. Unfortunately, the Web Player has some limitations compared to the desktop app, which is why certain features like sort and filter aren’t available there. For the full experience, it’s best to use the desktop app.

However, you can support this idea here by adding your vote and clicking Subscribe in the three-dots menu at the top right corner. That way, you'll stay updated on any relevant updates!

Hope this helps clear things up!

Why is it not available. Why would you not have the same features on all platforms. Are you aware that some businesses block downloading Spotify?

People have been asking for this feature for over a decade.

WHY IS SPOTIFY SO BAD. WHY DON'T YOU LISTEN TO YOUR USERS

Severed Heads "We Have Come..." in screen shot - surprised to see another fan!  I like original version from '85 better but glad to see - and thanks for tip

Hey Mateus!

These updates are awesome, the release date sorting and visible dates make browsing so much smoother. The bell icon for new releases is a great touch too, super handy for spotting fresh drops right away.

I’d love to see a way to pin favorite albums or playlists at the top next. Thanks for sharing, Spotify’s library just keeps getting better

Great addition. I use it every time, since I listen almost exclusively to new albums.

I LOVE release date sorting, as it's something I've dreamt about for years! When discovering new music and compiling 2025 Gems, I find it tremendously easier to search by release date to ensure it's a new release. Thanks!

These updates are fantastic! I especially love the release date sorting it makes it so easy to see how my collection has grown over time. The bell icon for new releases is a great touch too I can instantly spot what’s new without digging through my playlists. In the future, it would be amazing to have a “recently added” filter for quick browsing of new music I’ve saved.
