[Desktop] Select default sound device for Spotify Connect

Currently Spotify defaults to using the default sound device when launched, it would be neat if you could choose which sound device you want to use instead in the options screen.

Thanks

Any news about this very popular idea? I have been waiting for this feature also.

It's because the 'majority' userbase has changed the way they listen to spotify over the years, the majority of people listen on portable devices, tablets & phones for example as they've become more powerful. No developer cares for desktops anymore - you will never see this feature added, the end.

What he said. Spotify clearly doesn't care about the audiophile crowd, which is understandeable as they are only a small portion of the user base. There will be no ASIO or WASAPI support or lossless streaming. If it didn't happen until now it will never happen. Just forget it.

BUT I WANT IT! 😧

So do I. I promise to turn it down before connectng.

AGTdenton.. I thought the desktop version was a seperate version. Just to clearify, you're saying Spotify doesnt care about how the service is being used on desktop?

In all honesty if that is the case, I believe Spotify gravely underestimate its consumer base. I would dare to say that atleast 400% of the desktop users are also using the service on other devices. I would also dare to say that atleast 90% of them are paying costumers, and it would be a mistake to overlook their needs and wishes. If a company doesnt stay modern and up to par, its extremely easy for a competitor to move in, as we have seen time and time again. The entire reason behind Spotify's success was the indoctrinated and lazy music industry that refused (just like Spotify now seems to be doing) to adopt to the consumer base.

Giving us this feature after we moved to a new platform wont make people return either. Historically proven fact.

this **bleep** been there for so many years. and spotify still havent done anything bout this. it might be the reason to all your losses of users. its a darn simple to make. and all need it.
