[Desktop] Select default sound device for Spotify Connect

Currently Spotify defaults to using the default sound device when launched, it would be neat if you could choose which sound device you want to use instead in the options screen.

Thanks

Decided awhile ago I'm done supporting a service that won't add features people actually want and that's only tweaking systems they've had in place for years. Went with YouTube red and haven't looked back, same cost per month and you get a lot more for your money. Run through chrome to change audio output when needed aandproblems solved. Really liked Spotify but honestly haven't used it since I got red.

More than 5 years and no sign of this feature on the horizon. Unbelievable.

How about in the 5 years this has been here, you put out an update to allow this? I enjoy the premium service, but it's getting harder to support something that doesn't implement a feature thats requested by thousands of its users.

Why this still not implemented yet?

Came across Audio Router, haven't tried it yet but looks promising as a workaround for this dissapointly missing feature in Windows Spotify client.

I used Audio Router for a while and it worked perfectly under windows 10 although it's an extra step that shouldn't still be required for a feature they've been asked for over and over.

Currently using a Chromecast Audio, but while that resolves the issue of being able to direct spotify output to it's own input on a reciever, Google's implimentation of spotify has some quirky issues around using the connect feature. (Spotify windows client can't see the Chrome Audio as a device until it's been selected by an android or apple device but then works fine until the next instance).

That said.... it's absolutely ridiculous that this hasn't been implemented yet. If they want home users onboard this is a critical feature, and as streaming services become more and more integrated they're going to lose out on the home market if they continue to focus solely on the mobile market.

2012 this was suggested and it's still not a thing??? Come on guys! Even Windows Media Player has this option for f*** sake.

2012... still nothing. FFS

This is how developement looks in 2017: focus on dump features nobody asked for or need and ignore those which are crucial to basic operations.

How did even Spotify get popular is beyond me. I'm strongly considering going for Google Play Music.

Agree with Perq - this has been ongoing since 2012 FFS. Sick of switching between output devices just to listen to Spotify.

Can't believe this isn't implemented yet. Every other musicplayer, even teamspeak3 has this feature. Spotify is like the best service, but has the worst cheapest player I have ever seen!

Given the price I am seriously considering dropping out of the spotify cult and use free services instead, since spotify doesnt offer anything better than the free services anyways. The mainstream ones can be streamed through players far superior to the spotify player anyways.
