Android auto large playlist support (crash/hang)

Android auto large playlist support (crash/hang)

Currently Android auto crashes if i try to open a large playlist. The problem started somewhere between 1000 and 2000 tracks. You can still use the playlist if you initiate it from the phone. But if you try to open it from Android auto it will crash with the "not responding" dialog indicating too much work is being done on the main thread.

Would be nice to have that work, and as it doesn't crash when initiating from the phone i suspect it's a small type issue.

Hey there @username73762362,

Thanks for posting on the Community! Hope you don't mind us moving your post, as it fits better in our Help section 🙂

Just to check, have you noticed if this only occurs in offline mode? If so, a similar issue has been reported in this thread and it's currently being investigated by our teams. Feel free to have a look there to see if it's what you're experiencing as well.

We're also looking into an issue with loading playlists specifically on car infotainment systems. Should it sound similar to the behavior you've noticed from your end too, we recommend have a look at that thread for more info. You can also leave your info there, as well as subscribe to the thread to stay tuned!

If your issue is different, however, it would be great if you could send us a few more details. For example - did you notice that this started at any specific points, any problems when listening to podcasts, etc.

Cheers!
