Beyond Energy

Sobre nosotros

Ocean Winds (OW) is an international company dedicated to offshore wind, leading a new era of clean energy by turning ocean winds into power that lights up homes, businesses, and communities. A pure offshore wind player, created as a 50-50 joint venture, owned by EDP Renewables and ENGIE, OW develops, finances, builds, and operates offshore wind farms worldwide. From start to finish, we make it happen—constructing wind farms at sea and keeping them running to deliver reliable, green energy every day. What sets us apart is the expertise of our people, the experience gained through our projects, and the shared vision of our sponsors. Headquartered in Madrid and present in 8 countries, OW now has close to 19 GW of gross offshore wind capacity either operating, contracted, or with development exclusivity rights secured. OW is shaping the future by working closely with governments, partners, communities, and industries to make offshore wind a basis of an attainable tomorrow. We’re here for the long haul—creating a legacy that not only powers today but also shapes a sustainable future. Beyond Energy. Ocean Winds.

  • #Event | Celebrating the families who inspire us every day  💛 OW Ocean Winds has recently renewed its efr (Empresa Familiarmente Responsable) certification in Spain, a recognition the company has held since 2021, reaffirming its commitment to promoting a healthy balance between personal, family and professional life, a core pillar that lies at the heart of the firm. Audited every three years by Fundación Másfamilia, it’s an honour to be certified once again and to continue strengthening this commitment. To celebrate this recognition, we opened the doors of our headquarters in Madrid to the people who matter most: our families. Together, we enjoyed a fun and memorable 𝗢𝗪 𝗙𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 & 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆! 👨👩👧👦   Our 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝘀 had the chance to participate in workshops and activities inspired by the work their parents do at OW. They discovered how we’re helping build a cleaner, greener future and even creating their own windmills to bring that purpose to life! 🌬️ Meanwhile, family members and friends had the chance to meet the OW team, learn about the different phases of our projects and discover what motivates us every day to go #BeyondEnergy. ⚡ So, today, on #ChildrensDay, we celebrate what really matters: our people, their families and friends, and the balance that allows them to share moments like this.  Filled with laughter and curiosity, the day became an opportunity to create memories we deeply value. ✨ #ProudtobeOW

#EnvironmentalSurveys | Taking the first steps in marine biodiversity research for our High Sea Wind Project in Australia! 🌊 A couple of weeks ago, we marked an important milestone for our 1.3 GW High Sea #OffshoreWind project, with the launch of our first boat-based environmental surveys. The project carried out seabird and marine mammal surveys and deployed white shark acoustic receivers throughout the feasibility licence area off Gippsland, Victoria. These monthly boat-based surveys will now take place every month for will be running over the next two years to generate long-term data that will to deepen our understanding of the marine ecosystem and guide project design while safeguarding local biodiversity. We're proud to be taking these first steps working hand in hand with local experts and communities including Monash University Flinders University Bhagwan Marine Deep Blue Shipping Co. Ltd as we advance toward a clean energy future! 🤝 Happy to be coordinating these efforts with RPS! #ProudToBeOW

Securing these buyers during the development phase provides the financial viability needed to move a project forward. ⚡   In this episode, we explore how long-term agreements like Contract for Difference (CfD) or Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) links offshore wind energy directly to major consumers, from households and data centers to industries with ambitious net-zero targets. It’s a process built on trust, reliability, and delivery, ensuring clean energy flows where it’s needed most.    Starring an OW Ocean Winds-exclusive cast! ⭐  🔹 Angie Garcia, our Head of Energy Management  🔹 Helen White, our Head of Commercial Asset Management for the UK 🎬 Watch the short version of the episode below, and head to the comments to watch the full-length episode and explore the full Beyond Energy series.    #ProudtobeOW 📌 𝘉𝘦𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘥 𝘌𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘨𝘺 𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘯 𝘖𝘞 𝘖𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘭𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘳𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦𝘤𝘺𝘤𝘭𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘰𝘧𝘧𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘯𝘥 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘴. • #Event | From #BrazilWindPower 2025 to COP30: Building Momentum for Brazil’s Offshore Future COP30 has officially begun in Belem and the message from Brazil Wind Power 2025, held just last month in São Paulo, still resonates loud and clear: Brazil is ready for offshore wind. Now it’s time for regulation to catch up. Representing OW Ocean Winds, our experts joined the discussions that are shaping the future of offshore wind in Brazil: ⚡Rafael Munilla Muñoz, our Chief Business Development Officer, opened the event calling for clarity, predictability, and decisive action to turn ambition into implementation. 🌍 Dimitri Laloux, our Origination & Partnerships Director shared global perspectives on how emerging markets can accelerate deployment when policy meets commitment. ⚖️ Rafael Palhares Simoncelli, Head of Business Development for Brazil & South America, joined regulatory decision-makers to discuss licensing and auction readiness, highlighting the importance of collaboration and timely decisions. 💼 Guilherme Grossi, Business Development Lead Engineer for Brazil, reinforced that legal certainty and transparent frameworks are key to unlocking private-sector investment and enabling a sustainable supply chain. 🔗 Alessandro Olcese Persivale, Origination Senior Associate, moderated a WindTalk on supply chain opportunities, highlighting how developers, suppliers, and institutions are ready to move forward once regulatory signals are in place. Across all sessions, one message united developers, suppliers, and industry leaders: The potential is here, and the commitment is clear. Up next are the regulatory signals to transform opportunity into reality. As Brazil hosts COP30 and steps onto the global climate stage, it has a unique chance to lead the energy transition by turning words into action. [Camera] Estudio.pub #ProudToBeOW
