Today Minister Jack Chambers TD launched the Accelerating Infrastructure Report. Alongside colleagues, Taoiseach Micheál Martin; Tánaiste and Minister for Finance Simon Harris TD as well as Minister of State at the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science Marian Harkin TD. Speaking at the event, Minister Chambers said: “This Report and Action Plan set out a bold vision for accelerating the delivery of infrastructure that underpins Ireland’s future. By removing barriers and streamlining processes, we are creating the conditions for faster, more efficient development that supports housing delivery, enterprise, and social progress. These measures will not only transform how critical projects are delivered but will strengthen the foundations for sustainable growth and prosperity for generations to come.” To read the full report: https://lnkd.in/ejr7Wehy

The Minister for Public Expenditure, Jack Chambers T.D., today published a report and action plan on accelerating infrastructure. 🏗️ It sets out 30 specific, time-bound measures designed to remove barriers to the efficient delivery of infrastructure in Ireland. The reforms tackle barriers across every aspect of project delivery under 4 headings; 1. Legal Reform 2. Regulatory Reform and Simplification 3. Co-ordination and Delivery Reform 4. Public Acceptance These reform actions represent a radical approach to streamlining infrastructure development processes and significantly reducing delivery timelines. This is a once in a generational opportunity to transform Ireland’s infrastructure. By supporting the delivery of critical infrastructure of water, electricity, and transport, this plan will create the foundation for the more efficient delivery of all other infrastructure in the state. Today Minister Jack Chambers attended the launch of the INSPIRE Research Infrastructure Programme at Dunsink Observatory. This landmark €750 million investment package will transform research infrastructure across Ireland’s higher education sector. Speaking at the event, Minister Chambers said: “INSPIRE will enable excellent research to be undertaken in our higher education institutions; and when we fund excellence, we know we can expect significant and positive impact. From its outset, this Programme will drive the imperative to deliver strong and clear returns from all investments made. INSPIRE is an investment in Ireland’s future – in our talent and in our people; in our future workforce and our ability to constantly innovate, adapt, ask tough questions and find new answers that no one had ever considered - and ultimately find solutions to challenges we once thought insurmountable. We are expecting this funding to translate not only into the delivery of institutional strategic priorities but also, to add to the higher education institutions’ contribution to national policy objectives. Driving Better Public Services through Trusted Data Sharing On November 12th, Minister Jack Chambers announced the publication of the Data Sharing Support Suite, another major milestone for the Data Governance Board and a key step in strengthening Ireland’s data governance framework. This suite provides practical tools, rules, standards, and guidelines, to help Public Service Bodies integrate data sharing and API standards into organisational policies. The goal: faster, safer, and more efficient data sharing. The launch took place during the Data Officer Network event hosted by the OGCIO as part of Transformation Week 2025, attended by over 60 Data Officers from across the public service.
