Man held for killing sister’s lover in Kasganj
Agra: A 20-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly killing his sister's lover, Kasganj police said on Wednesday. The body of Jiya Ahmed (19), who was in a relationship with his neighbour, Atifa (19), for several years, was found on Saturday near Naiyon Wali Masjid in Mohalla Jhanda area. The next day, Jiya's father, Ibrar Ahmad, lodged an FIR at Sahawar police station, alleging that Atifa's family had repeatedly warned his son to stay away from her. The two had planned to marry despite her family's opposition. Police said that when they continued meeting secretly, Atifa's brothers — Faisal, Rafat, Faizan, and Rizwan — allegedly intercepted Jiya near the masjid and attacked him with sticks and sharp weapons, killing him on the spot before fleeing. After his arrest on Monday, Faisal confessed to the crime and told police he had hidden the knife used in the murder in a heap of bajra stalks near his house. ASP Sushil Kumar said, "The four accused were booked under BNS section 103 (murder). Teams were formed, and with the help of local intelligence and surveillance, one accused was arrested. The murder weapon, a knife, has been recovered. The other three are still on the run, and efforts are on to nab them."
