Bazaarvoice aspires to be the world’s most trusted network of authentic consumer voices, and one way we earn that trust is through flawless execution during peak periods. From Black Friday through Cyber Monday, Bazaarvoice had a total of 17,360,000,000 Ratings & Reviews API hits through our network. If you are like me and have trouble counting zeros, that is roughly 17.4 billion review hits delivered in a 4-day period, or 4.34 billion review hits on average per day. So many reviews, in fact, that if you laid their text out end-to-end, you could take 8 round trips to the Moon and back. This was a +27% average daily increase, which is amazing, but this doesn’t matter unless we consistently deliver a great client and consumer experience. I am happy to report that this was our fourth consecutive year of zero critical incidents throughout this period. On top of this, our Contextual Commerce product – a basket-building product recommendation engine that studies shopper behavior in real time without the use of personal information – had an average of 2.1B hits per day. That’s a lot of product recommendations. In total, Bazaarvoice ensured that billions of consumers could engage with authentic product ratings, reviews, photos and videos whenever they were looking for them, and ensured our client’s products could be discovered, trusted and chosen by consumers.
