Spotify Wrapped is here and this year it’s giving us a “listening age.” Fun? Maybe. Insightful? Possibly. But it raises a bigger question....who gets to decide what a “young” or “old” sound is? Does music taste follow a chronological timeline anymore? A 30-year-old might only listen to jazz from the 60s. A 70-year-old might love trance music. And a 50 year ofd might listen to both. Yet algorithms don’t seem to know the difference. For some, this new feature is lighthearted. For others, it leans on tired ideas about age and culture. To us, it’s a reminder that tech still struggles to grasp how diverse, and surprising, our lives really are. And why it needs to evolve with us, not just measure us. That’s the heart of our #AgeingIntelligence approach, designing with real people, across longer lives. If we’re going to live longer, richer, more mixed-up lives, our technology needs to catch up with that reality. So we’re curious..........How did your Spotify Wrapped land this year? Did your “listening age” feel true or just a clever gimmick? Share your “listening age” and your real age in the comments and what you think. Let’s use this moment to rethink how tech talks about us not in decades, but in possibilities. #SpotifyWrapped #AgeOfTaste #ThisCuriousLife #DigitalCulture #Longevity #MusicAcrossGenerations #AgeingAndInnovation #TechMeetsHuman
