Man dies after being struck by vehicle in south Las Vegas

A pedestrian is suffering from life-threatening injuries after a south valley crash Friday morning.

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A 52-year-old man has died from his injuries after a south valley crash Friday morning.

According to RTC, the intersection of Tropicana Avenue and Wynn Road, near the I-15, was shut down around 5:56 a.m. LVMPD responded to the area around 5:27 a.m. after receiving reports of a pedestrian hit by an SUV outside of a crosswalk.

Preliminary investigation found that the driver was not impaired or speeding at the time of the crash, and pulled over to wait for police afterwards. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The pedestrian, identified as a 52-year-old male, later died at the UMC hospital, police say.

Driver are advised to expect delays through the area, and find alternate routes. An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
