Suspected DUI driver crashes into Las Vegas police cruiser while trying run from traffic stop: police say

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A suspected DUI driver crashed into a police cruiser while trying to run from a traffic stop, police said.
The incident occurred around 1 p.m. on Friday near the intersection of Hyde Avenue and Torrey Pines Drive, near Interstate 11 in west Las Vegas. The incident appears to have ended in the parking lot of Garside Junior High School.
When an LVMPD officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the vehicle tried to flee and collided with the patrol vehicle, police said.
The driver was taken into custody, police said, adding that impairment was suspected in the incident. The officer was uninjured.
