Through ACL’s “Bridging the Aging and Disabilities Networks,” a Project of National Significance, Hawaii formed a State Alliance Team (SAT) to decrease information gaps and improve emergency preparedness among individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. During the 2023 Maui wildfires, the SAT identified affected individuals, connected them to resources, and later developed materials like the “All About Me” guide to strengthen future preparedness and response.
