Recorded at the CDFAM Computational Design Symposium in New York City (October 29–30, 2025), this presentation by Sai Nelaturi of C-Infinity provides a detailed look at how assembly configuration spaces can unify the EBOM (as-designed) and MBOM (as-planned) representations of complex products. Nelaturi outlines the challenges OEMs face in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environments, where manual translation from design structure to assembly process structure creates inconsistencies, delays, and significant engineering overhead. By treating the EBOM and MBOM as dual views of a single structured configuration space, the C-Infinity approach enables automated translation, subassembly reuse, consistent change propagation, and tighter digital-to-physical integration across the product lifecycle.
