A new study led by researchers at Emory University's Rollins School of Public Health, published Monday by JAMA Network Open, estimates that nearly 20% of U.S. residents who use pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) for HIV prevention—or more than 110,000 of the approximately 580,000 PrEP users nationwide in 2024—received their medication via telemedicine. #telehealth #access #HIV https://lnkd.in/g2JYfC9X

The House of Representatives has voted to extend Medicare waivers for the hospital at home program for five years, offering a longer extension for the pandemic-era program after a slew of short-term reprieves. The bill, which passed the House unanimously on Monday, would waive certain requirements to enable hospitals to provide acute inpatient care in patients’ homes until Sept. 30, 2030. The waivers were previously set to expire on Jan. 30, 2026. Hospital and telehealth groups applauded the bill’s passage. “This is a perfect example of how our government should work,” said Alexis Apple, director of federal affairs at ATA Action, the advocacy arm of the American Telemedicine Association, in a statement. The bill now heads to the Senate for voting. #telehealth #telehealthpolicy #access https://lnkd.in/g9ghTgHB

The Center for Connected Health Policy (CCHP) has developed several new telehealth resources created specifically for the Intellectually/Developmentally Disabled (IDD) community. Made possible through generous funding from the WITH Foundation, this series of resources aims to improve IDD patients and caregivers’ awareness and knowledge of telehealth including how it can be used to receive health services. Resources were also developed to assist providers in providing IDD patients with a positive experience in their telehealth visits. #telehealth #telehealthpolicy #disability #resources https://lnkd.in/gVyYUBqN

PHI's Center for Connected Health Policy compiles and shares telehealth-related laws and regulations across all 50 states and the District of Columbia, as well as at the federal level through its Telehealth Policy Finder tool and an annual review of telehealth laws and Medicaid program policies. Published last month, their Fall 2025 report examines how states have steadily refined and stabilized their telehealth policies, moving from emergency-driven flexibility—implemented in the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic—to more permanent, structured frameworks. Recent trends reflect steady growth in reimbursement, targeted expansions in cross-state licensure and the development of professional practice standards that introduce guardrails to ensure quality and accountability. Read the full Fall 2025 report, and explore the state summary chart showing where states stand on many key telehealth policies, as well as an infographic highlighting key findings: https://lnkd.in/gshsBvKr

Higher socioeconomic groups, including employed and higher-income individuals, favor telehealth due to their financial resources and flexibility. #telehealth #access #mentalhealth https://lnkd.in/gEYCi2wU

As families gather around tables filled with tradition and gratitude, we’re reminded how much access—whether to food, warmth, community, or care—shapes our wellbeing. In the telehealth world, access takes many forms. Recently, we’ve seen this reflected not only in the extensions of the Medicare telehealth waivers, but also in the DEA’s ongoing efforts to extend flexibilities around the in-person requirement for prescribing controlled substances. Once again, continued access to essential telemedicine services is at the forefront. #telehealth #telehealthpolicy #DEA https://lnkd.in/gecR8aY9
