Updates

  • Proof that dairy and disco do mix… and can win you a Shorty Awards! 🧀🏆 Last spring our NYC Cheese Rave took the internet (and Bushwick) by storm: a sold-out, one-night It-List mashup grounded in two trending event themes on the Eventbrite platform, brought together to create something truly one-of-a-kind. Hosted by Antoni Porowski with sets from seven local DJs and cheese tastings from Metro Cheese Club, it became a standout IRL moment built straight from the kind of experiences Eventbrite makes possible. We’re beyond thrilled that this lactose-fueled mashup just earned a Shorty Award, and a huge congratulations to “Small Business Big Lessons” by Julia Hartz, which took home a much-deserved Audience Honor! Thank you to everyone who celebrated with us, to the Eventbrite team who brought this idea to life, and to the organizers on our platform who create the IRL experiences that bring communities together. We can’t wait to imagine our next creative activation with you in mind.

Long before fame and flashing lights, artists find their voice in spaces like this: intimate venues built with care for creators and community alike. The Argo, a new 700-cap venue opening in Milwaukee, is one of those spaces: artist-first, locally rooted, and designed for connection on and off the stage. In my latest newsletter, I spoke with co-founder Andrew Coate about what it takes to build the future of live music from the ground up. 🎸 Read it here ⬇️

  • Podcasting is moving from earbuds to sold-out rooms, and fast! • Most excited by this. See you at SX 🤠

SXSW has always been more than a festival, it's a spark ⚡ that ignites creativity across an entire city. This year, so many creators built their own SXSW experiences on Eventbrite, extending that magic through intimate meetups, industry chats, and after-parties. And now, I'm thrilled to be heading to SXSW 2026 to join the conversation from the stage! 🎤I'll be moderating a panel with Dani Calogera, Kate Wolff, and David Salazar called "The Death of Passive Entertainment—A Future for Participants." At Eventbrite, we're watching this shift happen in real time. Fandoms and creators are transforming audiences from passive consumers into active participants—building communities, movements, and real moments that shape culture way beyond the screen. 📱➡️🌍 After two decades in this space, it's clear: people don't just want to watch their favorite stories anymore. They want to live them. It's the insight driving everything we do, and what we're exploring with ventures like Britehouse. The future of entertainment isn't passive—it's participatory, immersive, and built on connection. See you there! 🎸🤠

So proud of our global team! This month we're celebrating recognition on two fronts, as an exceptional workplace and for product. It's a powerful reminder that when you create a culture where people thrive, they build products that help others thrive. Best Workplaces 🌍 Eventbrite has been named to El Mundo's prestigious ranking of the 100 Best Companies to Work For in Spain! What I love most is that it's based on what really matters – how we support our people, nurture our culture, and create opportunities for growth. I'm cheering for Jaime Vallori and Sofía Allué San José who accepted this award on behalf of our entire team. Their leadership and dedication to creating an exceptional workplace culture is evident in this recognition. Double Gold at the W3 Awards for Product Excellence 🥇 🥇 Our commitment to bringing the world together through live experiences shapes everything we build. We’re proud to share that Eventbrite earned two Gold Awards at the 2025 w3 Awards — for Best User Experience (Mobile Features) and Events (Mobile Apps & Sites). Since 2005, the w3 Awards have celebrated excellence in digital content, design, and experiences — honoring global leaders and independent creators who shape the digital landscape. Being recognized among the best is a testament to our team’s dedication to building intuitive, inspiring experiences that help people gather IRL.
