If you were at San Francisco Centre yesterday, you probably heard the music before you saw the crowd. Kids were running up to the toy tables with huge smiles, youth performers were bringing the excitement, and laughter carried through the whole space. We stood alongside Joy to the City, Code Tenderloin , and Assemblymember Matt Haney, celebrating a day built for community joy. The Skywatchers added a beautiful moment of art and connection to the celebration. #GlideUnconditionally

We were honored to share Angela Coleman's story from GLIDE’s Walk-In Center in front of a packed house at the Warfield during GLIDE’s 40th annual Holiday Jam — and it quickly became one of the night’s most powerful moments. Her courage moved the audience to tears, and we know her story will inspire you, too. We hope you’ll take a moment to watch. Angela knows firsthand what it means to be unhoused and to struggle with addiction — and she also knows what it takes to rebuild. Her journey is living proof that your past doesn’t define your future, and that change grows stronger when it's met with unconditional love. If you’d like to help make more stories like hers possible, please consider supporting our work (link in comments).

  • Big cheers to Officer Derrick Lew — now San Francisco’s new Police Chief. Chief Lew spent Thanksgiving with us at GLIDE, connecting with our community during a day that means so much here. We’re excited for what’s ahead and look forward to partnering in ways that strengthen trust, expand safety, and uplift our neighborhood. Congratulations, Chief Lew! #GlideUnconditionally

  • Thanksgiving at GLIDE had a rhythm you could feel throughout the day. The building moved from quiet preparation to a full and warm celebration, and the photos capture that energy from beginning to end. Take a moment to look through them and revisit the day from your own perspective. If you see yourself in any of the photos, feel free to use them and share what the day meant to you. If you post your own moments, tag GLIDEsf so we can experience the day through your lens as well. Link to photos in the comments. #GlideUnconditionally

  • Today at Glide Memorial Church we celebrated World AIDS Day with moving music, testimony, and preaching. Minister Marvin K. White said, “We must decriminalize disease. Peace begins in the body— your body, my body, the body of those who were shamed and refused and exiled. The God we serve knows what it means to take on stigma.”

Thanksgiving at GLIDE brought our community together in service and care as we served 2,500 meals filled with holiday favorites. The day was led with intention by our President and CEO, Rev. Gina M. Fromer, PhD. Midway through the day, the community gathered at Glide Memorial Church for a celebration service led by Minister Marvin K. White MDiv. We had 150 volunteers, including Assemblymember Matt Haney, Assessor Joaquin Torres, Former Mayor of San Francisco London Breed, San Francisco Fire Department , San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) staff, and Kings of Cali MC. Thank you for showing up for our community. Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! #GlideInAction #GlideUnconditionally #HappyThanksgiving
