And another one! A special thank you to Wallpaper for featuring NCA Studio in their recent article on Maydan Market. From concept to installation, our team was deeply involved in the design and procurement process — curating materials, finishes, and furnishings that celebrate craftsmanship and cultural exchange. Guided by Rose Previte’s mission of global inclusion, we collaborated with artisans from around the world whose work adds authenticity and texture to every corner of the space. Visit Maydan Market in West Adams and experience how design, food, and community come together around the hearth. Thank you to Forbes for this fantastic article capturing the spirit of the live fire hearth that is the heart and central piece in the design. Maydan Market reimagines the communal hearth as an architectural and cultural centerpiece, preserving the building’s vaulted structure while introducing new layers of craftsmanship, texture, and light. We’re proud to have contributed to a project that demonstrates how adaptive reuse and thoughtful design can cultivate shared experiences and economic accessibility for small businesses. Honored to have joined the 15x15 Cross Atlantic Matchmaking in the Built Environment during the Belgian Economic Mission at the beautiful Madera showroom last week. It was a fantastic event filled with inspiring conversations and a dynamic mix of businesses and design professionals exploring opportunities in the U.S. market. I’m always amazed by the incredible talent and innovative products coming out of Belgium—such a rich design culture with global impact. Grateful to be part of the dialogue and excited about what’s ahead! #BelgianDesign #BelgianEconomicMission #MaderaShowroom #DesignPanel #GlobalCollaboration #ArchitectureAndDesign #ArtsDistrictLA
During the Belgian Economic Mission to the West Coast, MADERA and Belgiqa hosted a match making event where we matched 15 Belgian manufactures with 15 US A+D industry experts. 🇺🇸🇧🇪 Together, we've explored new opportunities for collaboration, exchange ideas, and strengthen cross-Atlantic relationships in the design industry. During the event we had a very interesting panel discussion which included an impressive line-up of speakers and moderated by myself. A big thank you to Grégory Minne, Daniel Clason-Hook, Karla Basselier, Nicole Cannon and Alex Korter for joining the panel! We also wanted to thank Flanders Investment & Trade - USA and BELWEST - Chamber of Commerce for helping us setting up this event! Come visit the MADERA showroom, besides MADERA's Seamless Wood Design we also show products of Ethnicraft, Renson North America and Heatsail in our space to give architects and designers a true inspiration destination!

The wait is over — Maydan Market is now open! We're proud to have collaborated on bringing this remarkable concept to life — a vibrant new space where community, culture, and international cuisine come together. At NCA Studio, we strive to create environments that foster connection, creativity, and a sense of place. So much love and attention has gone into every detail — from the hand-crocheted sconces to the hand-painted tiles — and it truly shines through in the warm, inviting atmosphere. Check out the feature in the Eater article below, and thank you to Rose Previte and her incredible team for crafting “a little bit of LA represented under one roof.” Eater LA article: https://lnkd.in/gpNtW6Ea #MaydanMarket #CompassRose #NCAStudio #LosAngelesArchitecture #WestAdams #RestaurantDesign #HospitalityDesign #EaterLA

🌴 Farewell to the Palms? A Reflection on LA’s Changing Landscape 🌿 I’ve always loved palm trees. To me, they’ve symbolized more than just LA’s iconic skyline—they’ve evoked the feeling of a desert oasis, a kind of serene resilience in the sun. But after witnessing how quickly they ignited during recent wildfires, I’ve come to realize that our love for palms may be at odds with the realities of our climate future. As this https://lnkd.in/gzUc5wc6 points out, Los Angeles is preparing to say goodbye to many of its palms—not out of nostalgia, but necessity. It’s time we rethink our approach to urban landscaping. LA is home to an incredible array of native plants that are not only beautiful but also resilient and fire-conscious. Personally, I’d love to see more jacarandas lining our streets and parks—those bursts of purple are pure magic. Let’s embrace a greener, safer, and more sustainable Los Angeles—rooted in the beauty that’s always been here. #UrbanDesign #SustainableLandscaping #LosAngeles #NativePlants #JacarandaLove #ClimateResilience

Six months after the Eaton and Palisades wildfires, California has completed one of the fastest and largest residential cleanups in state history. ✅ Over 10,000 fire-damaged parcels cleared ✅ 2.5 million tons of debris removed—twice the amount cleared from Ground Zero after 9/11 ✅ Cleanup nearly complete, with rebuilding now underway in Los Angeles County In honor of the record-breaking cleanup, Governor Newsom has signed an executive order to streamline the rebuilding process—suspending certain regulations, pausing upcoming code changes for consistency, and ensuring homes are solar-ready for the future. With a clear implementation roadmap, the focus now shifts to rebuilding stronger, safer, and faster in partnership with local communities. Read more about it here: https://lnkd.in/dTTcmMRU

The LA Times recently published a piece on the rising popularity of curved architecture in residential spaces—and it echoes a trend we've long explored in hospitality and wellness design. We embraced the “curve effect” in our work for the Diamond Institute in Beverly Hills, where Dr. Jason Diamond wanted a space that felt elevated, luxurious, and—most importantly—soothing. Studies show that people instinctively prefer curves. They convey warmth, softness, and safety—qualities that help reduce stress and promote calm. For a medical setting, this emotional impact is everything. Incorporating elongated curves, layered lighting, and natural materials, we set out to create a space where design supports wellness—not just function. 🔗 Read the article: “Why Curved Architecture is Trending in Modern Home Design” by Los Angeles Times https://lnkd.in/gz7qs-YW 📍 The Diamond Face Institute | Beverly Hills Architecture and interiors by NCA Studio #Architecture #CurvedDesign #WellnessSpaces #EmotionalDesign #InteriorArchitecture #HealthcareDesign #NCAStudio
