Soaring health care costs will shape virtually all employers’ health and well-being strategies in the coming year, Business Group on Health shared today in its 𝘛𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘞𝘢𝘵𝘤𝘩 𝘪𝘯 2026. Employers will need to disrupt a health care system that fails to meet the needs of employers and employees alike, to lower costs and improve patient outcomes. This will require the scrutinization of all health, well-being and benefits programs; assessment of vendors and delivery partner relationships to ensure they are delivering value; and the prioritization of preventive care and chronic condition management. https://lnkd.in/e854gH56

  • This #GivingTuesday, we’re proud to support the mission of two organizations that embody the spirit of sharing care: The Elizabeth Dole Foundation and the Rally Foundation for Childhood Cancer Research. 🪖 Last night, our home care team attended the Dole Foundation’s annual Heroes and History Makers Gala, a powerful reminder of America’s often-unseen heroes: the more than 14 million military and veteran caregivers who provide daily, around-the-clock support for our wounded warriors. 💚 Through initiatives like the Dole Caregiver Fellowship and the Hidden Heroes Campaign, the Elizabeth Dole Foundation drives awareness, action, and community for caregivers nationwide. 🔬🧑🔬 We also had the honor of supporting the Rally Foundation's annual Benefit Bash fundraiser last month, which raised over $4 million for childhood cancer research to find better treatments with fewer long-term side effects and, ultimately, cures. 💚 Over 20 years, Rally has funded more than $40.5 million in research grants. Every dollar they raise helps bring safer, smarter treatments closer to the children who need them most. 🤲 We’re feeling grateful for all the ways we show care for one another and for the communities we serve this holiday season. • 🇺🇸 During National Veterans and Military Families Month this November, our goal wasn’t simply to post a “thank you for your service” message but to be intentional and listen – especially to those among our employees who have served. 🪖 On #VeteransDay, leadership reached out directly to our Veteran colleagues across Sharecare to hear their stories, learn about their service, and understand how those experiences continue to shape the work they do for Sharecare today. Tim Husted, chief operating officer, reminds us on Sharecare's blog that our Veterans’ paths are as diverse as our company itself, highlighting just a few of the many moving and incredibly cool stories we heard this November: https://lnkd.in/gxBxTpYc As the month comes to a close, we'd like to express our deep gratitude to every Veteran, milspouse, and military family at Sharecare and across the broader workforce. Thank you for your service, for your continued leadership, and for the example you set every day. #NationalVeteransandMilitaryFamiliesMonth

  • The supply of care providers in #rural areas isn’t enough to meet demand. Nearly all rural counties now qualify as shortage areas, and nearly 200 counties have zero primary care doctors. Today, on National Rural Health Day, Jen Martin Hall reflects on the sobering state of healthcare for the 43 million Americans living in communities with inadequate access — and how we at Sharecare have committed to meeting this moment. #NationalRuralHealthDay

As some folks know, I grew up in rural Mississippi - and, as fewer folks know, after living in major urban centers for over two decades, I put down new roots in rural Georgia nearly four years ago. And it’s among the best decisions of my life. While I thrive on the tranquility and slower pace of life that you find in so many parts of rural America versus urban centers, when it comes to managing my and my family’s health, the old adage of having to “go the extra mile” doesn’t even come close. It’s more like 50 miles. One way. This week, The Commonwealth Fund released a report finding that rural America will continue operating with only about two-thirds of the primary care physicians it needs for at least the next 12 years, leaving 43 million people in areas with inadequate access. This is nothing short of a crisis. The everyday people I have met in my “new” rural community - and the struggles and impossible decisions they endure daily as a result of lack of access - have greatly impacted my perspective and passion to transform rural health in America. And I’m incredibly proud of what Sharecare is doing to this end, including our work to support states in their efforts to capitalize on the Rural Health Transformation Program created by Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Now more than ever, all Americans deserve a connected, sustainable healthcare system leveraging technology and new models to make access simpler, smarter, more affordable, and personalized for them and their families. And as we architect that future, it’s incumbent on each of us in the healthcare industry to ensure that we don’t leave our friends in rural America behind. If I haven’t lost you yet, I had a little more to say in a blog I wrote in recognition of #NationalRuralHealthDay, so check it out if you’re inclined. https://lnkd.in/eGBeuup8
