Breaking ground in India!   This week, Shield AI and JSW officially broke ground on JSW’s state-of-the-art unmanned aerial systems (UAS) facility at EMC Maheshwaram, Hyderabad, in a ceremony attended by Indian industry and defense leaders. Through a strategic partnership, JSW Group will manufacture the V-BAT locally under a long-term Transfer of Technology (ToT) agreement. The Italian Job: ViDAR took to the chopper! During recent flight tests at Taranto-Grottaglie Airport in Italy, ViDAR successfully integrated onto Leonardo Helicopters’ SW-4 to autonomously detect, classify, and track targets across land and maritime environments. ViDAR consistently recognized both moving and static targets at maximum ranges in real time, demonstrating how Shield AI’s passive, wide-area sensing enhances ISR and SAR missions for NATO allies and customers worldwide and enabling future integration across Leonardo’s fleet. The U.S. Coast Guard "credits the V-BAT with more than $1B in narcotics seizure this year alone."    It's a huge team effort between the U.S. Coast Guard and Shield AI to deliver strategic results for the American people. This is what right looks like when our service members and industry team up to tackle hard problems. The USCG is responsible for 4.5 million square miles of ocean. No crewed force can cover that alone. The Wall Street Journal's Sunday edition detailed how V-BAT is helping close that gap. V-BAT is providing the reach and persistence needed to surveil, track and target threats far beyond the limits of cutters and crews. As the Coast Guard’s PEO for Robotics and Autonomous Systems noted, “[V-BAT is] a drone that can travel around 1,000 nautical miles, the equivalent of 1,150 miles, can do the work of 10 cutters.” A relentless focus on mission success for our customers is core to who we are. Not only is V-BAT the first and only Group 3 UAS on the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU)’s Blue UAS List, but it's also the only Group 3 on the Blue List Select to receive an Authority to Operate (ATO) designation.   An ATO is a critical cybersecurity certification that officially recognizes V-BAT across all components of the United States Department of War and allows it to be rapidly adopted across the U.S. military. Designed, tested, and deployed for the electronic warfare battlefield, V-BAT is the only ISR and targeting drone with continued proven performance while GPS and comms are jammed. Its VTOL design represents the future of UAS missions, enabling unassisted launch and land in the smallest of expeditionary footprints with maximum operator safety. Shield AI at Fenway Park!    Last week, we were at the Secretaries’ Cup, the annual matchup between the US Coast Guard Academy and United States Merchant Marine Academy, played for the first time at Fenway Park and decided by just one point. We are proud to support the U.S. Coast Guard both on the field and during operations. From helping to interdict millions of dollars’ worth of illicit drugs to supporting search and rescue efforts, V-BAT continues to deliver mission impact for the Coast Guard.   Autonomy for the world.
