Buildings don’t just emit carbon when the lights are on, they carry a hidden footprint in the materials they’re made from. As the UK shifts to renewable energy, embodied carbon (from material production, transport & disposal) is becoming the defining measure of sustainability. Our RMG600+ raised access floor is designed with 91% recycled material, delivering a carbon reduction of 50% GWP, A1–A3 per m2 at product stage compared to standard panels, helping projects secure higher BREEAM/LEED ratings and meet future carbon targets. The choices we make in materials today will shape the sustainable buildings of tomorrow. The conversation around Europe’s digital infrastructure is shifting — from expansion to evolution. At this year’s German Datacenter Conference in Frankfurt, it was clear that sustainability and energy efficiency are no longer side topics; they’re shaping the future of how data centres are designed, built, and operated. Daniel Satzinger and the Tate team were delighted to help lead the conversation around lower embodied carbon solutions and sustainable manufacturing which is very much aligned with our Planet Passionate ESG strategy. Watch back some of the key highlights from this years event, attended also by Peter Kelly, Divisional Sustainability Director who joined this years panel discussion on sustainability as a growth driver for data centres. #Tate #GDACon2025 #DataCentres #DigitalInfrastructure #Frankfurt #TechEvents #Sustainability #EnergyTransition

Data centres have a significant opportunity to reduce their carbon impact without compromising performance. That’s why we developed Tate LEC aluminium structural ceilings, a solution engineered for measurable sustainability. - Over 50% reduction in embodied carbon compared to conventional alternatives - Verified through a product-specific Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) - Backed by a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) using supply-chain-specific data - Operational energy supplied through a 100% renewable energy tariff Our impact is real: Switching to Tate LEC Structural Ceilings for a 10,000 m² data hall can save 350 tonnes of CO₂e, equivalent to removing 120 cars from the road or planting 18,000 trees. Let’s talk about how your data centre can stay ahead of the sustainability curve. We were delighted to host Governor Andy Beshear at Kingspan Group plc’s global headquarters, IKON, in Cavan, Ireland, to discuss our recently announced $61.2 million investment in a new manufacturing facility in Kentucky, North America. The 740,000 sq ft facility will create 400 new full-time jobs - the largest job announcement in Barren County in nearly two decades. Our team will occupy and refurbish an existing building, a decision that reflects our Planet Passionate sustainability programme by reducing carbon emissions and waste, while supporting our commitment to scaling manufacturing capacity globally. This milestone positions us to move faster, deliver smarter, and operate at scale for our customers, while continuing to invest responsibly in the communities where we live and work.
