“Patients can’t wait” isn’t just something we say — it’s one of our values, and it sets the standard for how we work. Yesterday, we welcomed Kathy Giusti — founder of the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation - MMRF, two-time cancer survivor, and author of Fatal to Fearless — for a conversation with our Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Kym White. She showed how urgency becomes action when the right pieces align: “In a world where we now have #AI, where we have amazing science, and if you have a patient focus, you’ve got a triple whammy that is going to drive really good things to the market.” Kathy reminded us that urgency means staying focused on the people behind every discovery — and never losing sight of the promise our work represents. We’re now preparing to file two #oncology INDs: one for our MMAE payload neutralizer and another for our CAR-T therapy. Both are designed to make a difference for people living with cancer. Want to learn more about our work in oncology? Watch our payload neutralizer in action: https://lnkd.in/eDMA5Twu #PatientsCantWait | #NowWeCan

Every November, Lung Cancer Awareness Month reminds us of a truth that’s both uncomfortable and urgent: stigma kills. Lung cancer causes more deaths than breast, prostate, and colon cancer combined, yet still is often perceived as a ‘smoker’s disease.’ Language matters. The words we choose influence empathy, policy, and research priorities. As MedComms professionals, we have a duty to lead with clarity and compassion. We translate science into stories that inform without judgement, empower without shame, and give hope where stigma once stood. This month’s Health Outcomes Communicator highlights five ways publications and medical affairs teams can lead that change, from reframing the narrative to elevating patient voices. Read it here: https://lnkd.in/gdmzhAmc #HealthOutcomesCommunicator #LungCancerAwarenessMonth #MedComms #ScienceCommunication #OncologyResearch

At Johnson & Johnson, we’re working to drive the next wave of innovation in cancer care. But progress brings complexity. Our Oncology Care Index found that 3 out of 4 oncologists felt the pace of new treatment development was overwhelming. At this year’s #JADPROLive, our very own Imran Khan sat down with three Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) - Beth Faiman, Christine Helou, and Victoria Wong - to discuss how to navigate these rapid advancements in cancer care. In partnership with our healthcare providers, we can work together to adapt and thrive in this exciting age for oncology. That’s why I’m proud of our programs like Make It HAPPen™, where we partner with APPs to develop and share resources to implement in practice. Because when we work together to support APPs, patients benefit. Learn more about how we Make It HAPPen™: https://lnkd.in/espt93gV #MyCompany #JNJOncology #MakeitHAPPen #JADPROLive

The Tip of the Iceberg Isn’t Oncology In recent years, a wave of non-medical “visionaries” has entered oncology, attracted not by science but by the optics of “impact.” To them, cancer care appears as an untapped market, a deck of numbers, or a photo-op wrapped in noble slogans. However, oncology is not a business vertical; it is an ocean—vast, unpredictable, and humbling. Only those who navigate its depths truly understand its weight. An oncologist doesn’t merely “treat cancer.” We accompany patients through diagnosis, toxicity, hope, relapse, remission, and sometimes, unbearable loss. We carry their fears, silence their pain, and share their resilience. This experience transforms us in ways that quarterly reviews never can. Those who have only seen the tip of the iceberg often confuse visibility with value and metrics with medicine. They construct stories, not systems; they celebrate awareness while neglecting accountability. They speak of purpose but lack the presence that comes from sitting beside a patient at 2 a.m. when science meets faith. Cancer care doesn’t require storytellers or saviors. It needs believers—those who understand the science, honor the struggle, and show up every single day. #Oncology #CancerCare #MedicalIntegrity #ClinicalLeadership #EthicsOverOptics #PatientFirst
