Earlier this month, we were pleased to have Bhavesh Prajapati represent SGS at the International Conference on Green Hydrogen, India (ICGH 2025). He joined the panel as an invited speaker by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India and GH2 India. In the session on “Certification Requirements for the Green Hydrogen Value Chain,” he shared perspectives on RFNBO compliance under the EU Renewable Energy Directive and the importance of credible certification frameworks such as CertifHy. The discussion covered key elements of RFNBO certification process based on EU RED and CertifHy scheme requirements, major challenges for the industry — related to additionality, temporal and geographic correlation, management systems, proof of sustainability, and more — which are essential for successful certification, enabling market access for green hydrogen and its derivatives.
