The goal of YUTAC is to encourage youth advocates to have a leading role in shaping policy, ending stigma, and creating sustainable change in Utah communities.
Our Values
- YUTAC combats stigma surrounding mental illness, homelessness, substance use, harm reduction, and system involvement in Utah.
- We create a safe, empowering community where youth and young adults can use their voices and share lived experiences.
- Young people deserve a meaningful voice in their healthcare, including foster care, mental health and the juvenile justice system.
- Disabled youth and young adults are entitled to autonomy, respect, dignity, and full constitutional rights.
- YUTAC centers the goals, strengths, and desires of young adults in every aspect of their treatment and wraparound care.
- Through leadership training, organizing, creative arts, events and policy work we support young adults in advocating for themselves and others.
- We help youth with lived experience build essential life skills for long-term success. YUTAC supports evidence-based, trauma-informed care and practices.
- We center the voices of communities historically erased by systems and stand in solidarity with human rights, abolitionist and social justice movements.
