I can not shift from Premium Family to Family Basic. The button under change subscription does not work.

Hey @marius241, thanks for reaching out to the Community!

Basic is available for previously existing Premium subscribers. Eligible subscribers will see Basic as an available plan on their account page. I’d recommend accessing the account page using a different browser or private window to see if that makes a difference.

I have a similar problem.  I cancelled my Premium Duo plan and now want to clang to a Basic Individual plan.  The Basic plans do not show up as an option for me to change to.  Why is this and how do I fix this problem, please?  Thank you.

I've tried a different browser and the private window, but it's still not working. I need you to take immediate action, as it's crucial that I adapt my plan without further delay.

Thanks for posting to the Community. If you don’t see Basic as an available plan in your account, you’re currently not eligible and I don’t have any information on when or if it will be available on your account. You can check out other plans you may be eligible for from your account page

your solution doesn't work.. it seems there is an issue with the platform.. i am on chat with someone from support - hoping they will find a solution quickly

 

Same issue here, Abo change to Basic Family does not work. Will it be solved soon?

Hi, I want to switch from Premium Family back to Basic Family. The Basic Family plan *is* shown in the web app (Mac Safari & Chrome), but if I press the "select" button, nothing happens.

 

Also tried the iPhone app: Basic Family plan is shown but there is no button to activate it.

Same issue for me.
I have been a Spotify Premium customer for over 10 years and now I didn't notice that my prepaid credit ran out and I had the automatic renewal deactivated, so my premium subscription expired unintentionally.
The support chat basically told me that there's nothing they can do and they don't really care.
So in conclusion, Spotify doesn't care about longtime customers and I don't care about doing business with a company that doesn't value longtime customers.
Thankfully there are many great alternatives.

I have the same issue on my android device and Firefox browser

i am preium family and see basic family option. i cant select it. the button goes no where. i have tried different browsers and still doesnt work. anyone have a solution?

I have reached out to support and they advised to cancel the subscription and they have a work around with a "special code" to give me basic family plan. Has anyone done this and worked? Reading others, if they cancel and then they not eligible for basic family. Support can't downgrade for you and they also can't credit your account the difference.

There might be a temporary error if you do see the option but can’t select it. I’d recommend trying this using a different browser or private window. If that doesn’t work, it’s best to try this with a different network connection to see if that helps at all. It’s good to make sure that no VPNs are enabled as a general practice when using Spotify. 

 

@Spicy25, to answer your question - I don’t have any information on how that works here so I’d recommend asking them directly for more info.
