Plan Premium Country Sweden My Question or Issue Hi Spotify Developer Team, I represent a communications agency that is developing a campaign for an international company primarily operating in the Nordic region. The campaign is built around a competition where users will fill out an entry form that will result in a personal playlist with music matching the participant’s preferences. We want these playlists to be generated on Spotify via Spotify’s extended quota mode. We expect a high level of participation across several countries, but since the campaign will run only for a limited period and is not part of ongoing operations, we currently do not meet the requirement of “Maintaining a minimum of active users (at least 250k MAUs),” as this is a temporary campaign. This situation puts us in a catch-22: To obtain extended access, we need a large user base. To build a large user base, we need extended access. To request extended access, we need a user base that we currently do not have. Is there any way to gain access to this functionality even though we cannot at this moment demonstrate at least 250k MAUs? If the above is not possible, we have considered setting up a central Spotify account where all participants’ playlists would be saved. From there, users can listen to “their” playlist and choose whether they want to add it to “My Playlists.” However, we have noted that Spotify may interpret it as spam if an account suddenly begins generating a very large number of playlists.Based on this, we would like to ask: What are the limits for what Spotify considers spam when it comes to large-scale generation of new playlists? Is it possible for an account to be “white-flagged,” given that we can guarantee it will not be used inappropriately but solely as part of this campaign? We hope there is a feasible solution for our situation. In the end, we are contributing in a responsible way to increased usage of Spotify. Kind regards, Jone
