enter image description hereBefore painting room trying to patch up and fill cracks, but the cracks on the trim caulking are getting worse after scraping. Should I use wood filler or caulking before painting?

The top edge can be pointed with an Acrylic latex caulk. Apply a thin bead to fill the gap. Use a protective gloved finger to tool the bead so that it is flush with the wall. Use a damp cloth to clean the wall and trim.

The bottom edge should use a spackling compound to fill the gap in the wall texture. Tool so that the patch is slightly higher than the surrounding wall. When the spackling is dry, use a damp fine textured cloth or sponge to smooth out the patch and blend into the surrounding wall surface.
