My home boiler is Worcester Bosch Greenstar 28i. The Hive SLR1c thermostat is now connected to it. The connection is as follows:

I'd like to change this thermostat to Beok TGR85. From the manual, the connection diagram looks as follows:

It looks like...

  • the blue wire should go to 2
  • the brown wire should go to 1

Am I correct?

And how do I connect the grey and black wires?

According to the Hive installation manual at https://www.free-instruction-manuals.com/pdf/pa_1286225.pdf, the connection to the back-plate is, from left to right: Neutral, Live, Common, Heating Normally Closed, Heating Normally Open.

To wire up your new Beok thermostat should be:

  1. Brown
  2. Blue
  3. Nothing/empty
  4. Black (or Grey)
  5. Grey (or Black)

The order between Black and Grey does not matter.

Maybe-useful additional background: "dry contact" means that 4 and 5 will be connected to each other, when the thermostat switches on, but not to anything else. This is why it doesn't matter which is which. Commented 1 hour ago
