Dual Enrollment
Dual Enrollment at Prince William Sound College
Prince William Sound College partners with school districts across Alaska to offer high school students the opportunity to take college-level courses. Dual enrollment can help you get ahead in your education and explore potential career pathways.
Benefits of Dual Enrollment
- Some students can graduate with both their high school diploma and an Associate of Arts degree or one of our Occupational Endorsement Certificates (OECs).
- Others can take specific classes, such as math or English, that count toward a degree at PWSC or transfer to another college or university.
- The terms dual enrollment, dual credit, and secondary student refer to high school students taking college-level courses.
Important Information for Dual Enrollment Students
- Your Academic Record Matters
- Your grades will appear on an official University of Alaska transcript.
- This transcript becomes part of your permanent academic record and may affect future college admission, financial aid eligibility, and graduation progress.

- PWSC does not provide supervision during class; you are expected to behave as a college student.

- You will complete the same assignments and readings as degree-seeking college students.
- Grade Requirements
- To continue taking dual enrollment classes, you must earn a C or higher in each class.
