Unearthing the history and legacy of innovation that Clayworks holds has been one of the most rewarding parts of our construction journey. We were thrilled to welcome Colorado Public Radio to the site for a firsthand look at how this former CoorsTek, Inc. ceramics plant is being reimagined for the future. https://lnkd.in/gcERSmST
In downtown Golden, Coors once made hand-painted household china as well as glass bottles for everything from soda to pickles to its own beer. This site and the surrounding acreage are becoming the Clayworks District, which will include housing, retail, and office space. Colorado Public Radio covered the story bringing the past and present together. https://lnkd.in/gZjEjB-N

Golden’s historic CoorsTek site is being transformed into Clayworks, a mixed use district at the base of the Rockies. We were fortunate to get an exclusive hard hat tour led by Sarah Marvez of AC Development Co. who shared the vision for how Clayworks will reshape Golden’s future while honoring more than 140 years of history. The master plan from AC Development calls for over 600,000 square feet of office space, 550 multifamily units, a 150 room hotel and conference center, and a collection of retail and restaurants, with more than 40 percent of the land dedicated to public open space. The first phase includes a 90,000 square foot CoorsTek global headquarters designed by Tryba Architects, powered by geothermal wells and targeting top sustainability certifications. Future phases will bring additional office towers, housing, hospitality, and a new 8th Street connection into downtown Golden. See the full slide deck here: https://lnkd.in/gwzZT_JM
