Trusted AI for Public Policy Professionals

About us

Helios is building Proxi, the first AI-native policy agent designed to work like a top-tier policy professional embedded on your team. Proxi continuously monitors legislation, regulations, and public sector signals to flag the developments that matter most—before they hit your bottom line. It maps your policy landscape, tracks key stakeholders and influence networks, and generates polished advocacy materials in seconds. Built for operators in Fortune 500s, lobbying firms, and government itself, Proxi augments the manual, fragmented work of government affairs—so your team can move faster, act earlier, and focus on the relationships and strategies that actually drive outcomes.

  • America’s greatest strategic advantage isn't only scale or speed, it’s clarity. When this country can see the mission clearly, we align, we build, and we outperform every prediction. The moonshot of the 1960s proved a simple truth: Never bet against America. Today’s frontier isn’t the moon, it’s the invisible terrain of policy, information, and AI-driven systems. Our film, "The New Space Race", produced with Absurd (YC F25) explores why clarity is the defining national advantage of the 21st century, and why America must lead with it. Helios exists to restore that clarity. The next frontier is visibility. We’ve done this before. We’ll do it again.

AI is helping public servants cut through noise, move faster, and deliver the kind of constituent experience people expect. In this article, the Cities Today Institute discusses the momentum around bringing AI into every city hall in the U.S. The shift is real. It’s accelerating. I look forward to having more conversations about this at the National League of Cities Annual Summit alongside Clarence Anthony’s leadership in Salt Lake City this week. For municipalities looking to leverage AI responsibly and effectively, we built Proxi by Helios to do exactly that. https://lnkd.in/eH9d6QjK

Everyone says we’re in a golden age of information. But when it comes to public policy, more data hasn’t made things clearer … just noisier. That’s the policy paradox: we have infinite information, yet making sense of it feels harder than ever. At Helios, we’re building the next generation of AI-native tools to cut through that noise, helping people who analyze, report on, or act on policy find what truly matters.

Diplomacy runs on trust, speed, and judgment. AI will only strengthen those if it’s built for augmentation, not automation. As I wrote for The AI Innovator, responsible AI isn’t about replacing people. It’s about amplifying the ones who carry real weight in decisions that shape policy, security, and global stability. The U.S. has to move past layering new templates on old systems. Modernization means rebuilding how government sees, decides, and acts at the speed of reality. • Government doesn’t need more AI pilots. It needs to learn how to buy the right ones. The latest StateScoop piece highlights that gap and the growing need for real AI readiness in public procurement. As our CEO and Co-founder Joe S. put it, the real gains won’t come from generic tools but from purpose-built systems that actually make government work better. Helios is building that future. Many in government have high hopes for AI tools, but they’ll have to buy them before those hopes can be tested against reality. Despite all of the talk in recent years of governance frameworks, workforce constraints and countless ethical concerns, the nonprofit Open Contracting Partnership last week published a guide aimed at the perhaps less talked-about task of how best to buy AI. https://lnkd.in/eJcywG4i

In a world flooded with noise, trust is the only signal that matters. From the floor of the NYSE, Helios Co-Founders Joe S. (CEO) and Brandon Smith (CTO) joined FINTECH.TV to share how our technology, Proxi, is redefining the infrastructure of accurate policy intelligence. Policy and governance now move at machine speed. Here, Brandon explains how Helios is tackling veracity and hallucination in AI systems, ensuring that institutions can depend on intelligence that’s both fast and true. A short clip — but a big idea. #Helios #Trust #Accuracy #AI #FinTechTV #NYSE #PolicyIntelligence

Building a company means living a month of life every week. Sales calls. Standups. Constant problem solving. But every so often, there is a moment that cuts through the noise and reminds you why it matters. This weekend we shot new demos for Proxi, our AI policy intelligence platform. What started as a tool for government teams is now seeing pull from workflows spanning journalism, legal, and data analysis. The demand is clear. People need a way to make sense of policy in real time without getting buried in noise. Our mission is simple. Make policy insight instant, trustworthy, and usable for anyone who relies on it. We are just scratching the surface. On set getting ready for a demo.

If you track regulatory risk for a living, The White House just gave you a signal. The Administration is preparing to reopen nearly all U.S. coastal waters to offshore drilling, citing a national energy emergency and linking it to the AI race with China. For businesses operating in energy, infrastructure, or tech, this isn’t just an environmental pivot, it’s a regulatory velocity event. Agency mandates are now shaping markets faster than legislation ever could. Here’s what we’d watch: 1) Agencies are moving at machine speed and policy windows are collapsing. 2) Energy, environment, and AI regulation are now fused into one strategic posture. 3) Companies with slow compliance or siloed intelligence now risk being blindsided. Proxi by Helios helps leaders spot these shifts early… When they’re still signals, not headlines. The future of government won’t be written in code, but it will depend on it. I recently joined The Peggy Smedley Show to talk about how we’re building Proxi, an AI-native policy intelligence platform that gives decision-makers the context, speed, and clarity to lead in a complex world. We talked about why AI in government matters and how trust, transparency, and accuracy are core to building capability at scale. Public institutions shape everything from markets to mobility to national security. Technology can restore trust in government, modernize capability, and turn policy intelligence into an active instrument of leadership. https://lnkd.in/eZhXWc_V

Around the world, governments are in an AI race ... not for weapons, but for trust. The challenge isn’t just adopting new tools, it’s rethinking how institutions operate altogether. Helios exists to power that transformation. Proxi, our AI-native platform, helps government leaders anticipate change, act with confidence, and build systems worthy of public trust. From his recent FINTECH.TV interview at the NYSE, Helios Co-founder & President Joseph A. Farsakh explores what it takes for governments to lead — not lag — in the era of AI-driven policy.
