The What Is AI Reading? December 2025 report is here! We analyzed over 1 million links cited by leading AI models, including ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini. In this second edition, we found that AI continues to anchor its answers in earned and journalistic sources, with a quarter of all citations coming from journalistic sources. Press releases are also showing up as sources in LLMs, with citations increasing 5x more since we launched the first edition of the report in July. The full report shows how citation patterns have shifted since our July report and provides insights to help PR teams strengthen their GEO strategy and visibility in AI-driven search.
