Dr. Michelle Donahue PT, DPT, EdD, PCS , DCE at Nazareth University, presented a poster at #elc2025 This study of 236 DPT students found that first-year academic performance, particularly in Gross Anatomy, strongly correlates with NPTE scores—giving faculty the ability to identify students who need additional support early in their program. Early intervention strategies based on these predictors can make a significant difference in student outcomes and licensing exam success. #npte #physicaltherapystudent

NY NJ Physical Therapy Clinical Education Consortium reposted this
From October 16-19, four Spear team members headed to Kansas City, Missouri, for the Education in Leadership Conference: Kyle Davis, PT, DPT, OCS, Sarah Lloyd, PT, DPT, SCS, Jeremy Crow, PT, DPT, CSCS, ART, SCS, and Lisa Yirce, PT, DPT. Over three days, they joined peers from across the country to explore topics shaping the future of physical therapy education, including AI in learning and combating burnout, as well as leveraging technology in clinical placements. A highlight: Kyle represented Spear on a panel, “Navigating Placement Processes with Purpose,” alongside Carrie Foeller, Director of Clinical Education at the University of Delaware. Together, they discussed how technology and collaboration help match students with the right specialty experiences at Spear, ensuring both students and mentors achieve meaningful growth. Between inspiring sessions, connecting with the NY NJ Physical Therapy Clinical Education Consortium, and a little Kansas City BBQ, our team left feeling energized and ready to continue driving our therapists and students toward excellence!
