How do you inspire students to love reading? 📚 When Chad Peterman noticed his fifth-grade students at Indian Valley lacked enthusiasm for reading, he introduced the Accelerated Reader (AR) Auction. The challenge: motivate students to read more and strengthen literacy. His solution? Students set reading goals, earn AR points through independent reading, and use those points to bid on prizes donated by the community in an annual auction. Parents, staff, and local supporters contributed over $25,000 in prizes, turning reading into a school-wide celebration. Data-driven insights are key to improving education. Austin Public Schools (APS) in Minnesota partnered with Renaissance, using tools like Star Assessments, FastBridge, and eduCLIMBER to transform instruction and intervention within their MTSS framework.
