  • Last week, WTS-NE wrapped up two events which were all about fun, learning and networking. On Friday, November 14th, we hosted Ben Fischer, PE and Maddie McArthur, EI from Felsburg Holt & Ullevig for a coffee chat on 'Transportation Resilience' which was well-attended and challenged common interpretations of resilient design by reframing resilience as a guiding principle rooted in risk management, systems thinking, and interdisciplinary practice rather than the common approach of treating resilience as an overly complex separate design objective.   On Saturday, November 15th, Jessica Jurzenski hosted a friendsgiving lunch which lined up really well with the beautiful weather here - 🍂☀️ Grateful hearts, full plates, and sunshine overhead!! Events like these remind me that connection fuels collaboration. Whether it’s around a conference table or a picnic bench, gratitude and good company go a long way! 🥂

  • 🚀 Packed House at last week's WTS NE Lunch & Learn! We wrapped up an incredible session on Digital Project Delivery at the Nebraska Department of Transportation , and the energy was off the charts. With almost every seat taken and no lunch leftovers 😜, it was clear this topic struck a chord. Jon Starr provided a very useful review of the upcoming digital project delivery changes. He highlighted what to expect and the benefits, noting that even just having a digital centerline would create lasting positive effects. Although a model viewer has not yet been selected, the intent is that more than just engineers would use it to review and share project details, whether it be for environmental reviews or for public involvement. The insights shared were practical, forward-thinking, and sparked some great conversations. 💡 Key takeaways: Digital workflows are streamlining communication and reducing rework Real-time data access is improving decision-making across teams The shift to digital is driving better outcomes for clients and communities Thanks to everyone who joined us and made this such a dynamic event. Thank you to SRF Consulting Group for sponsoring the lunch and to Smita Sharma from Lindsay Corporation for organizing the event. #DigitalProjectDelivery #LunchAndLearn #InnovationInAction #ConstructionTech #BIM #Collaboration #ProjectManagement #FutureOfWork
