I am testing spring data with mongoDB in spring boot.
Got the message "** WARNING ** : Your ApplicationContext is unlikely to start due to a @ComponentScan of the default package." when starting the application got the below message :

org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanDefinitionStoreException: Failed to read candidate component class: URL [jar:file:/C:/apache-maven- 3.3.9/repo/org/springframework/boot/spring-boot-autoconfigure/1.3.5.RELEASE/spring-boot-autoconfigure-1.3.5.RELEASE.jar!/org/springframework/boot/autoconfigure/jdbc/DataSourceAutoConfiguration$JdbcTemplateConfiguration.class]; nested exception is java.lang.IllegalStateException: Could not evaluate condition on org.springframework.boot.autoconfigure.jdbc.DataSourceAutoConfiguration$JdbcTemplateConfiguration due to org/springframework/jdbc/core/ConnectionCallback not found. Make sure your own configuration does not rely on that class. This can also happen if you are @ComponentScanning a springframework package (e.g. if you put a @ComponentScan in the default package by mistake)

In pom.xml , included following parent, dependecies

   <parent>
       <groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
       <artifactId>spring-boot-starter-parent</artifactId>
       <version>1.3.5.RELEASE</version>
    </parent>

    <dependency>
        <groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
        <artifactId>spring-boot-starter-data-mongodb</artifactId>
    </dependency>

what will be the issue ?

  • I Find out the issue . Issue was the main class (the one which will implement "CommandLineRunner" ) should be in specific package instead of default package . Other DAOs also should be in same or sub level. Now I am able to update and view the data to/from monogoDB. Commented Jun 21, 2016 at 7:38
