My Question or Issue

Hi!
I've noticed that when using the 3-dot menu for podcast episodes in the Your Episodes list, the icons next to the actions change back and forth.

I've attached a video showing this bug.

Thanks,

Patrik

Hey @PathfinderKP,

Thanks for reaching out.

We've tested this on our end but couldn't reproduce the issue. We see however that you were casting to a TV while recording the video. Does this happen when you're not sharing your screen? Does it behave the same way when you access the menu from the podcast page?

Also, have you tried any troubleshooting steps like clean reinstalling the app?

Keep us posted.

Thanks for the reply!

I did a clean reinstall not too long ago (this bug was happening before that as well).

I just did a test and I kept switching back and forth between my phone and the tv as the output source and this only happened when the podcast was played on the TV. And it seems that while this happened in the Your Episodes list and the podcast's page (where every episode is listed) but this doesn't happen when I checked it on the episode's page itself.

Hi there, @PathfinderKP

Thanks for keeping in touch!

Just to confirm, is this also happening when you cast the podcast from a different phone to your TV?

Also, we’d recommend using the Spotify Connect option from the mobile app, instead of casting the podcast/episode to your TV to see if it makes any difference. In the mobile app, go to the episode you want to play, once it's reproducing, click the Spotify Connect option in the playback view (the one highlighted in the image) and then select your TV. Keep in mind that your mobile and your TV should be connected to the same WiFi network.

Lastly, Include in your next response the make, model and OS version of the devices involved to investigate further.

Keep us posted!

I forgot to point out that it's not the device's casting feature that I use but the Spotify connect feature that you mentioned.

I just did another test and I started playing the podcast directly on the TV. The phone app recognized that the episode was playing on the TV but the bug did not happen. After changing the output device on my phone using Spotify Connect is when the issue started happening.

The TV that I use is an LG webOS Tv NANO793NE, and the OS version is 04.63.25. As far as I can tell it should be the highest version available for this device.

Hey @PathfinderKP,

Thanks for the additional info!

We've noted your report, however we can't give an ETA for a fix. In the meantime, just make sure to keep the app up to date.

We're here for you if there's anything else you wish to address.
