We've been receiving reports that starting podcasts in the mobile app causes it to crash. This is happening both on Apple and Android devices and it's not specific podcasts.

Hey folks,

We really appreciate your patience while we looked into this issue!

We've received an update that this should be fixed with version 9.0.98.1187, so make sure to keep Spotify updated to the latest version

Let us know if this issue is fixed for you after updating the app and if you're still having any trouble, make sure to post a new thread in the relevant help board here.

Thanks!

If there are any problems with the App or software, the device (PC, Mac, tablet, iPad etc) doesn't matter. Often the solution is to update, but if this doesn't work, clear the (cache) memory of the app or software. Don't forget to make a backup, because the existing made existing  files (will also be lost)  are removed. Turn the device off, wait 10 seconds and turn the device back on.. Reinstall the software or app..

Once the App stops functioning correctly, there are several solutions:

Settings / App clear (cache) memory and restart the App.

Settings / App clear (cache) memory remove the App, switch off the smartphone, tablet etc., wait 10 seconds, restart and install the App.

I am paying for a service that is unreliable at the moment and this has been an ongoing problem for sometime. I have know idea what is happening, there has been no communication from Spotify of what the actual problem is and when it will be fixed.  I hope we will be compensated for this inconvenience.

Cleared cache, turned phone off, bla bla bla, problem is still ongoing.

@SIRCAS When Spotify works, it sounds great, but today  playback stops again, which I find too often. I'm switching back to YouTube; it sounds worse, but I've never noticed any glitches.

For how long have you been having this issue?

I've been having this issue for 4 days now. I've uninstalled and reinstalled so many times already. The app crashes everytime I try to listen to anything (podcasts of music). I have the premium plan and I've been charged today which is frustrating as I haven't been able to use the app at all.

Please look into it

The reason why Spotify has become unstable is I think it is caused by enabling lossless, The servers do not yet all meet the requirements needed for the data that needs to be delivered. That is also the reason why lossless is not yet possible everywhere

Well I am stillmg dealing with this problem on Samsung S 23.

I even can not open the app. I've done every solutions but it sitll doesn't work. But the funny thing is you can enter to the app when you clikck the icon for long time and quick searching button(but still cant play the podcast) I think the problem is the fail of loading main screen whatever.

@Jinny828 Sometimes it is forgotten that there are a lot of apps open.

The apps running in the background require memory, so if reinstalling isn't the solution, all the apps need to be terminated.

Click the ||| at the bottom left and click close all, then it will probably work.
